What is copy editing?
A copy edit is the black-and-white grammar and spelling adjustments that ensure your text is flawless and ready for printing or presentation.
This option is the most time/cost effective and will ensure a professional touch to your work.
I will make sure to catch everything, but don’t worry – I am also sensitive to writing style and will not change anything that you have clearly written for effect.
Line Editing
What is line editing?
A line edit is the artistic adjustments to voice, tone, prose, and style. I will go through line by line to ensure good flow by word, sentence, and paragraph in order to make sure your text is the best it can be.
I subscribe to the Strunk & White school of editing where “a sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline, but that every word tell.” -William Strunk
